Friday Fiber Demo: Drop Spindle

Friday, February 3, 2017
12:30 – 1:00 p.m.

Drop spindles have been around for thousands of years and were the primary spinning tool until the Middle Ages. Early spindles were made with wood and stone, ceramic, bone or other heavy material for the whorl. Today’s spinners use a variety of simple and exotic spindles. Join us for a demonstration of spinning using a drop spindle.

The Tip: Clean Up with Scrap Batting

The other evening I was cleaning up my sewing room after finishing a project. I usually grab the little swiffer gadget to get all of the lint and threads off my cutting and sewing tables. This time, I noticed a small batting scrap destined for the trash bin and started dusting with it instead of tossing it. Amazing results. Give it a go. Next I'm going to try attaching a slightly larger scrap to the long-handle swiffer I use to pick up Lucy hair off the vinyl floors. ~ Karen

Our spotlight item this week . . . all full priced books. We have a great selection in stock. Pick your favorites and get started on a new project this week. Limit 3 per person at 20% off.

Offer expires on Saturday, February 4 at 6 p.m. Limited to stock on hand. No phone orders. You MUST mention that you saw this offer in the Quiltzette to receive the discount.
