We received a nice assortment of batiks last week. Here are just some of them.

Row by Row . . . On The Go

Beginning this Wednesday, June 21, visit Cortez Quilt Company and other participating shops to receive a free pattern for a row in a quilt. We’ll also have kits available for our unique row pictured here – Highway 160. Combine your rows in any way to create a unique quilt that represents the fun you had traveling to the stores. Travel with friends, discover new quilt shops and have fun collecting rows. Create a quilt using at least eight different 2017 rows from eight different 2017 participating shops. If you’re the first person to bring in your completed quilt you’ll win 25 fat quarters (6-1/4 yards of fabric). Use that shop’s row in your quilt and win a bonus prize. Row by Row runs from June 21 through September 5.

We’re working our way through the year creating these adorable raw-edge applique wall hangings. Make them with or without the month at the bottom. These fit perfectly in the small wire stands. With the month added to the bottom the finished size is 12 x 16. Join anytime . . . you can backtrack and make the earlier months or make them later as each month rolls around.

First Saturday Make & Take: Shower Caddy

$10, pattern required

The pattern is called “Shower Caddy” and, indeed, this would be a great little basket to carry to and from the shower when you’re at a camp site. But it would also make a great organizer for sewing notions, office items, or art supplies. We have the vinyl in every color available. Tricia will teach this fun “make & take” class.

Yarn Shop Classes

Raglan Sweater
Wednesday June 21 and Thursday June 22, 2017
1:00 – 5:00 p.m. both days
$29, includes pattern

Learn to knit a top-down raglan cardigan by knitting this adorable baby’s sweater. You will need sportweight yarn and straight or circular and 4 dpns for gauge of 20 sts/4″ and cable needle. Must know how to knit, purl, increase and decrease.

Crochet 101
Friday, June 23, 2017
2:00 – 4:30 p.m.
$25, includes supplies

Learn to crochet and you’ll be on your way to making beautiful baby blankets, booties, hats, scarves and more. In this class you’ll learn how to chain stitch, single, and half-double crochet. Once you know these basics, you can take your work home and make a potholder or small scarf with the yarn that is provided for the class. Sue Maxwell will teach.

Join us on Tuesday evening, June 20, to learn more about BERNINA Designer Plus V.8 software. We will have an extra-long class (5-9 p.m.) to cover more than one lesson. Bring your laptop loaded with the Designer Plus software, a USB stick for copies of the lessons, and completed or in-progress projects for show and tell.
