Embroidery Block-of-the-Month
Sign Up This Saturday from 10-2We are excited to offer our first Embroidery Block of the Month. The design is Charmed Adventure by Hoopsisters. There is no better way to learn about your embroidery machine and improve your skills than by participating in a block of the month. And you will have a gorgeous quilt when you are done. We have the Charmed Adventure Quilt in the shop NOW
so that you can get a closeup look at this work of art. Charmed Adventure is a five-month program, however we are offering classes for seven months to allow you to skip two months and still keep up. The blocks are all created and quilted in the hoop. Charmed Adventure features a center medallion that is paper-pieced and then embroidered. The finished quilt size will depend on the size of blocks (5” – 9”) that you decide to make. |
Details . . . Fee: $150 if you register in person or by phone on or before June 17. After June 17 registration is $165. Fee includes designs, videos, and slideshows. Optional border design: $40. You must attend the monthly classes to receive the designs. Fabric requirements and thread key are available here. Purchase your fabric, thread, and stabilizer at Cortez Quilt Company before September 1 and receive a 10% discount. The first class will be held on Sunday, September 10 from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. You should bring your embroidery machine to this session. Subsequent classes will be scheduled on days other than Sunday (dates to be determined). In these classes we will watch the lesson and hand out designs for that month. Beginning Quilting
June 16 & 17, Friday & Saturday
9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. both days
$119, includes supplies Master the basics of piecing and quilting in this two-session class. You’ll choose four fabrics and make a beautiful quilted 35″ x 35″ wall hanging/table topper. Learn how to measure, cut, piece, press, machine quilt, and attach binding. This class will give you the skill and confidence you need to become an accomplished quilter. We’re working our way through the year creating these adorable raw-edge applique wall hangings. Make them with or without the month at the bottom. These fit perfectly in the small wire stands. With the month added to the bottom the finished size is 12 x 16. Join anytime . . . you can backtrack and make the earlier months or make them later as each month rolls around. Knitting 102

$10 This class builds on what students learned in Knitting 101. Now you take your craft to the next level by learning how to increase and decrease. Bring needles and any leftover yarn from Knitting 101. If you are already proficient in casting on, binding off, and doing knit and purl stitches, you may be admitted directly to Knitting 102. Limited to four students; youth and adults welcome. Anne Worthington will teach this class. |
