This the second in our Little Quilt series. Each month you’ll make a different seasonal wall hanging to display each month in your home or office. There are three options: 12″ square quilt to hang on a stand, 12″ x 16″ with the month included, or you can add an optional calendar holder. These are simple applique projects that can easily be made in one class session. Join us to make one, two, three . . . twelve. Your choice!

Introduction to Lace Knitting

In Introduction Lace Knitting you’ll learn the simple elements used to create light and delicate scarves and shawls that intrigue every knitter. This class is designed for those who have mastered knitting fundamentals (casting on, knit and purl stitches, and binding off). You will need fingering or DK weight yarn (in a light color) and needles in size 4 or 5 to create a beautiful lace bookmark. Guest teacher Dana Jensen will be your instructor.

Knitting 101

In this class you will learn to cast on, knit and purl, bind off, and start working on a basic ribbed scarf.  Anne Worthington will be the instructor. A pair of knitting needles and ball of yarn are included in the class fee. Limited to four students; youth and adults welcome.

Drop spindles have been around for thousands of years and were the primary spinning tool until the Middle Ages. Early spindles were made with wood and stone, ceramic, bone or other heavy material for the whorl. Today’s spinners use a variety of simple and exotic spindles. Join us for a demonstration of spinning using a drop spindle.
