Blocks Without Borders (an Art & Landscape Society) meets on the Third Thursday of each month at 1 p.m.  Prepare to exchange ideas, along with giving and receiving inspiration.  Don’t forget to bring your Show-N-Tell! We will have a door prize! No RSVP necessary.

August: In July we had a wonderful turn out for show and tell of our “Necessity” challenge. Individual creations from the serious, to the sentimental to just good fun interpretations were shown. We are an organic group of creators, all learning from each other as we explore art quilting possibilities.

• Our next challenge is ” A Picture is worth 1000 words or is it”!!! Completion by September meeting. Some wonderful ideas are percolating.

• Lou Ann Jacobson Ball is spearheading a delightful project to support the new Montezuma County Historical Museum. She has provided historical photos of our area for us to replicate in quilt blocks 10 x 12 size. These should be finished by January so that the 20 block quilt can be raffled/auctioned in April.

• We didn’t finish our embellishment panel discussion last month so bring, samples, ideas or anything that says embellishment to you!

• Come join us on Thursday August 15th

The lenses provide an optimum view when threading, and magnify the stitching area. This is especially helpful for precision sewing in tricky places. The magnifying lenses also make lighter work of embroidery, sparing your eyes and reducing fatigue. The Magnifying Lens set also features a bracket for simple mounting to the sewing machine.
