For today’s demonstration, we will be featuring the Creative Grids Pineapple Trim Tool. This template creates perfect 6; 8; or 10 inch finished Pineapple blocks by squaring up each round of strips as they are sewn. Since each round of strips is squared up before the next set is added, the blocks are perfectly square. The cutting requirements for the center square and the strips are printed right on the ruler. Once you see this tool in action, you will want to add it to your collection. We also will be using this tool on March 3 for our Skill Builder Class, where we will be making a Pineapple Potholder.

Shar Short will demonstrate how to add Shisha Mirrors to art quilting projects. Shisha, a technique from India, uses small decorative mirrors in your work as embellishment. You can watch or give it a try. Since it will be the day after Valentines day, let’s do a late Valentine exchange. Use your scraps and whip up a quick homemade Valentine! Well put them in a bag and each draw one. Let’s celebrate us!

There seems to be some confusion where to lubricate this hook system. BERNINA has just informed dealers of a new way of doing this. In the current user manual BERNINA shows to lubricate the reservoir. With the latest Firmware updates for the 7/5 Series machines the lubrication animation shows how to lubricate the actual shuttle race.

It is recommended to use the new process to lubricate the shuttle race directly. BERNINA has had many cases reported where extensive reservoir filling caused oily threads and discoloration of the fabric.
