We are in the process of revamping the whole thing, as it is needing a huge overhaul. This is going to be a long project, so thank you for your patience. Don't forget, we are always just a phone call away! Or better yet, stop on in!

Who doesn't love fabric? And now there are three days officially dedicated to this habit, I mean hobby!
August 17th - 19th, we are going to have Mystery Bags just for you! Purchase a Mystery Bag that has been filled with three yards of fabric for just $24.99.
In addition, each bag will contain a half yard of "Ugly Duckling" fabric. You DO NOT NEED to participate in the Ugly Duckling Challenge to purchase a Mystery Bag, although we hope you want to play along!
We are challenging you to create the following:
~ A 30 x 30 wall hanging. ~ 50% of the quilt top must contain your "Ugly Duckling" fabric. ~ Your wall hanging needs to be quilted, and be finished with a binding or facing. ~ All Ugly Duckling Challenge Wall Hangings need to be submitted by Monday, October 9th.
We DARE you to join in the fun!
|
We invite all of our customers who don't live around Cortez to play along with us! Call us at 970-565-7541 to purchase your Mystery Bag. We are happy to mail it to you! You can participate in the Ugly Duckling Contest as well!

Anne's Bio: "How did I get to this place of crazy improv quilt-making? I have been sewing since I was 8 and quilting since around 30. I was taught “waste-not, want-not” and delight in creating with scraps and discards turning them into something useful and/or pretty. Other education includes an MA in education and many workshops mostly in sewing and quilting. My work has been displayed across the country, including the Governor’s mansion in Indianapolis IN and Rep Rebecca Dow’s office in Santa Fe NM, as well as several galleries and private homes. To me rules and patterns are jumping off points or suggestions. Color choices should be what you like. It’s not fun if you don’t like the colors. Experience has taught me that mistakes almost always lead to a better idea…………… Being left-handed, most tools are upside down and backwards for me. My body never was a standard size and shape, so I learned to make clothes by altering patterns from the start and using all types of fabrics. Pattern directions often didn’t seem to make sense. I also have a tendency to dive into new projects and figure out what I’m doing as I go. This means it takes a bit longer to learn, but I figure out what works for me without being inhibited by do’s and dont's. I had been making quilts for some time before hearing about the 1/4 inch seams and cotton-only rules! My quilts may contain any type of fabric that is the right color and the seams will be what works for those fabrics. My philosophy is: Let’s have fun!"
