BERNINA Machine Mastery Classes

Projects are designed to teach you how to use the features of your new BERNINA machine.  In addition, we will continuously review the techniques in the
My BERNINA Mastery Workbooks for Sewing, Embroidery, and Accessories.  Students may select their choice of fabrics, embroidery designs and embellishments, based upon the built-in designs and features of each machine model.

Students may join this ongoing class as soon as they purchase their new BERNINA machines - no waiting!

Raw Edge Applique
Students will learn raw edge applique techniques and adapt their favorite machine decorative stitches to finish the edges of each applique piece.  Various quilting techniques will be used, and the technique of faux piped binding will be introduced.

Table Scraps Placemats:
You will create these fun and colorful placemats using decorative stitches, machine quilting, machine embroidery, and free-motion techniques.

Customized Table Runners:
This project involves machine-embroidered, custom-designed Table Runners that incorporate quilt-as-you-go techniques. You will learn to edit your built-in embroidery designs and/or purchased OESD designs, as well as lettering, to embellish the blocks.

Here’s a project to discover some of the amazing decorative stitches and embellishment techniques that will take your table décor and future projects to a whole new level. Add surface dimension with rolled hem pintucks. And the flatlock and reverse flatlock stitching do double duty as construction and embellishment stitches. Weaving ribbons through the reverse flatlock ladders adds visual complexity and beautiful definition to the stitching. Your binding will be attached with a sewing machine, using your favorite built-in decorative stitches.  You’re going to be blown away…so let’s get started!
