2023 BERNINA Software Inspirations

1.  NOW IS THE TIME  to purchase BERNINA DesignerPlus Software V9, either the full version or the update.  Through December 31, 2022, Quilted Corners in Farmington, and Cortez Quilt Company in Durango, are discounting the cost of V9 software by a "whopping" 25% off MSRP.  Order now, you will not want to miss this opportunity to take your creativity into a new world of embroidery possibilities.  If you have any questions or concerns about your laptop, please let us know.  

2.  EXCITING NEWS:  Alberta Chappell will begin teaching BERNINA DesignerPlus Software V9 at Quilted Corners in January 2023.  You will participate in the in-depth BERNINA Embroidery Software lessons developed and presented by BERNINA Educator Debbi Lashbrook.  Each month's lesson will dive into a practical use for embroidery software and showcase the tools to bring your vision to life.  You will receive in advance of each class the following:  PowerPoint presentation, PowerPoint presentation .pdf, handout pdf., design and/or artwork files, and a recorded video presentation by Debby Lashbrook, to enable you to study the lesson independently, prior to each class meeting.   There are ten lessons per year.  The yearly Program fee is $100, payable to Alberta Chappell with a personal check.  If you have to miss a class, you will still receive the information.  Each class meeting will be the third Saturday of each month, from 11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.  This will facilitate students who travel from outlying areas.  If you have any questions, please contact Alberta, 505-402-4132 or email: [email protected].

2.  On Saturday, January 14, 2023, there will be a free introductory overview class for beginners, 11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m., to assist you in installing the software and to acquaint you with the format of the software.  You will need to download and print the Creator and DesignerPlus V9 workbooks from Bernina.com > Software - Learn & Create - BERNINA.  (Tip:  It is helpful to have the workbooks spiral-bound at your local office supply.)  Bring these workbooks to the first class meeting on January 14, 2023.  

3.  On Saturday, January 21, 2023, Software Inspirations Lesson 1 - Back to Basics will include basic tips when using the software to create embroidery designs.  Tips for lettering, tips for digitizing, tips for organizing your design files, and tips for computer upkeep and back-up will be included.  Class time:  11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.  Bring Lesson 1 handout .pdf and PowerPoint presentation .pdf to this class.

Three Month Class Pass: Take unlimited classes at Quilted Corners or Cortez Quilt Company for three months for only $75. Purchase a Class Pass anytime. It’s activated when you take your first class and expires three months later. If a class/event is NOT covered by the Class Pass, it will be noted in the class description.

Table Runner - each student will choose their own fabrics, embroidery designs, and embellishments on a Quilt-As-You-Go layout, based upon built-in designs and features of each machine.  We will review all embroidery techniques covered in previous classes, plus add more, including built-in embroidered applique designs.  In addition, we will review all of the techniques in the My BERNINA Embroidery Mastery Workbook. This is an ongoing Mastery Class, which new students can join at any time.
