A Note From Aimee

In the spirit of being completely transparent, I want to briefly let all of you know what transpired over the last few months with me.

On April 26th, I went to Southwest Memorial ER with severe abdominal pain. A
CAT Scan quickly revealed that I had a diverticulitis, with a perforated colon. The initial plan was to stay here, on antibiotics. By Thursday, it became clear that I needed higher care, so I was sent by airplane to Colorado Springs, with additional diagnosis of sepsis and multi organ failure. Upon arrival, I immediately was sent to the first of three surgeries. I spent a week on a ventilator in CCU. I then spent an additional three weeks in the hospital as the healing began. When you hear the term "learning to walk again" - it means just that. Learning to do everything normal again. I was fortunate after that to go to the Rehab floor, where I underwent extensive treatment for two more weeks.

This brings us to today. I have been home now for three weeks. I am seeing home health for additional care and physical therapy. It will still be a short time until I am able to be back to the stores like normal, but I will be back.

We want to thank you for all your prayers, thoughts, cards, comments, and support that you have provided. We felt and appreciated every one.

~Aimee
