UFO CONTEST

UFO Challenge
Saturday, February 12th- May 7th 2022

By request, (actually DEMAND)... We are starting a Winter/Spring UFO Challenge.
UFO = UnFinished Object

Here’s the deal. Bring in your UFOs starting this Saturday, February 12th. You have until February 26th @4:00pm to register.  We will register each one and log them into your personal page in our special UFO Challenge binder. Then, get busy sewing! Each time you finish a UFO, bring it back to the shop. We will mark it complete and you will be entered to win (see below). The more UFOs you finish the more chances you have to win.

Special UFO Registration Days
Bring your UFOs in this Saturday, (February 12) or Monday/Tuesday or February 14 & 15th) and you’ll receive 20% off any fabric or batting you purchase that you’ll be using to complete any/all of your UFOs.

Rules

• UFO must be a quilt, wall hanging, table runner, purse, or tote bag. It can also be a garment. Yes, place mats will count, but you have to have at least 4 of them.

• UFO must be started (i.e., fabric and pattern in a bag or a kit you haven’t begun won’t qualify).

• UFO must require at least one hour of work to complete (e.g., six inches left to bind won’t qualify).

• A completed UFO is really complete. (Quilted and bound, for example)

• No UFO registrations after February 26th..

UFO Show and Tell Party
At the First Saturday Breakfast Club in May (May 7th)  we will have a special UFO Show and Tell Party. Bring everything you completed during the Challenge and claim your bragging rights. We’ll draw for the prizes during this party, but you don’t have to be present to win.

Prizes
When we draw names from all the entries on May 47th, FIVE lucky people will win a yard of fabric/month for a year!  Remember, the more UFOs you finish the greater your chances of winning!

Due to a schedule conflict, Open Sew Days are moving to Wednesdays!

We have scheduled Open Sew Days the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Wednesdays of each month.
10:00 am - 3:30 pm

Bring a project to work on.
Be prepared to do a lot of chatting!
Bring a lunch, or go out to one of our Main Street Restaurants

BLOCK CHALLENGE

Riley Blake Designs is having a fun Block Challenge for the 1st half of 2022!

Join some of your favorite designers from Riley Blake Designs, as you make 16 new and exciting 10" quilt blocks.

This challenge started January 4th, but you can jump in any time. I am pretty convinced that I would be missing out if I don't join!

Anyway, this started January 4th, and ends May 17th. You'll receive a new block pattern every Tuesday, except the last Tuesday of the month.

CHICKEN SALAD SEW ALONG

Lori Holt just started her newest Sew Along called Chicken Salad. Each Monday for 12 weeks Lori will release a new tutorial on her blog, which you can find here.

This quilt is so cute... who can resist wanting to do this week's chicken, Hattie? (All twelve chickens are named!)

We have Lori's Simple Shapes in stock, along with the fabrics from her Cook Book Collection for those of you who want to duplicate this sample.

Wednesday's Open Sew Days are a perfect day to come "Sew Along" and create your Chicken Salad quilt! Sandy Cressler will be there to lead our Sew Along!
