Blocks Without Borders (an Art & Landscape Society) meets on the Third Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. Prepare to exchange ideas, along with giving and receiving inspiration. Don’t forget to bring your Show-N-Tell! We will have a door prize! No RSVP necessary.
• Our September meeting was a huge success with a strong turnout for Virginia Robertson’s fabulous class on face painting on fabric. We are so lucky to have such a talented teacher and artist in our quilting community. THANK YOU Virginia!
• We had a spirited reveal of our “A picture is worth a thousand words – or is it?” challenge” with extremely varied work from thoughtful and sophisticated landscapes, through the artful and just plain pretty, to more artsy folk submissions. Thanks everyone, we certainly are growing our skills thanks to everyone’s generous sharing.
• Our next challenge will be deferred until after the Montezuma Historical Musuem project blocks are complete in January.
Next meeting is October 17th at 1:00 p.m.
• Museum blocks will be shared – come see how our quilt is coming along. We are using vintage photos of Montezuma County landmarks which will be assembled for a fundraiser auction for the museum next Spring.
• Susan Madden will be giving a demo on easy curved piecing – you won’t want to miss watching this wonderful fabric artist at work. Please bring 2 contrasting fat quarters and basic sewing kit for practicing the curved piercing technique.
