Attention 790 and 880 Owners: Update and Upgrade Available

Update and upgrade - two separate things, both for owners of the 790 and 880 BERNINA machines. First, the firmware update. Here's what it offers:

• Embroidery design preview with file names

• Invisible secure - tie-on/tie-off in stitch direction

• Thread-up command for quilting in the hoop

• Default setting for manual thread cutting is "off"

• Save a design in any hoop location

• Adds hoop option for the new Midi Hoop (available later this year)

• New font - Chicago (currently only on the 880)

IMPORTANT NOTE: You can do this update yourself but our technicians strongly encourage 790/880 owners to bring their machines in for this service. There have been some reported issues with consumers doing the update at home and having problems occur. Why take a chance? We'll do it for you - for free!

Learn how to successfully embroider on knits in this Make & Take class with Cindy. Bring a T-shirt, tank top, or other knit garment, along with your machine and a hoop sized for the design you’d like to use. Bring a design or a blank USB stick and choose one when you arrive for class. We’ll discuss design placement, hooping, and stabilizers. You can do this! Piping or cording can add beautiful detail to any project. Go beyond store-bought piping . . . make your own to bring the most creativity to your projects. Select the size of filler cord and pair it with fabric that works with your project. Piping can be used to emphasize style lines, add support for heavily used areas, and as a decorative trim. Learn the tips and tricks for creating and working with different sizes of piping, how to begin and end properly when attaching piping, and secrets to tightly inserted piping. Digitizing for Applique

Bring your laptop loaded with BERNINA Software V.8 or V.7 and we will have fun creating an applique design from a simple image (please bring one that you’d like to work with). We will go through the process of scanning an image and digitizing it for applique. If you would like, bring your machine and embroidery unit so you can stitch out your applique.
