The Quiltzette

January 21, 2014

We have a lot going on this week!

You still have time to sign up for Patty Joy's lecture . . . Crazy Quilts and Their Place in American  History. The event is THIS Thursday from 5 - 7 p.m. Patty loves to talk about Crazy Quilts and their importance in the history of American women. She has been teaching and lecturing on these unique quilts for over 25 years and has collected several wonderful examples which she will share. Each quilt tells a story and it is great fun to look at the quilts and develop the reasons behind many of the stitches, symbols, fabrics and ribbons that are contained in each quilt. She will take you through the history and give some inspiration why we should find these quilts important, today. Call 970-565-7541 to sign up to attend this fun and informative lecture. The fee is $12 and snacks will be provided.

Patty will then teach Beginning Crazy Quilting the following day - Friday, January 24 - from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. There are a few spaces left for that class. Call to register today! See the details on this and all of our classes by clicking here

Our Food Drive for the Good Samaritan Center is THIS WEEK

We're holding a week-long food drive to help restock the pantry at the Good Samaritan Center in Cortez. January is the month the food pantry has the greatest need. Bring in five non-perishable items to receive 10% off of your entire purchase (full-price merchandise only, not including furniture) for that day, or if you don’t need to shop we’ll add 50 points to your frequent shopper account. Bring in ten items to receive 15% off that day’s purchase or 100 points added to your frequent shopper account. We will donate one food item for each one brought in this week. One donation visit per customer, please.

Sewing Sunday - January 26

Bring your machine and a project and spend a wintry afternoon sewing with friends THIS Sunday from 12 noon until 5 p.m. Light snacks will be served and this event is FREE! Please call us at 970-565-7541 to sign up.

And we're in the midst of a wonderful transition!

What used to be the "Baby Room" is now full of sale fabric and kits. We're clearing out and making space to fill that area with wonderful BERNINA sewing machines in a few weeks. We'll still have a nice selection of baby and kids fabric . . . just in a somewhat smaller space. In fact, we've just received some adorable kids fabric (with little monsters on it!) and beautiful soft flannel in girl, boy and neutral colors.

This is our cute new baby/kids area. Flannel, cotton, fleece, kits, patterns.

Check out everything we have on clearance . . . fabric, kits, and finished items 20 - 40% off!

Thanks to all the wonderful women at the San Juan Quilters Guild in Farmington for having me down last week to teach your class. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and I hope you all did, too! ~ Karen
