Quilt Show This Weekend

We hope to see you this Friday or Saturday at the Dolores Mountain Quilters biennial quilt show. More than 100 fabulous quilts will be on display. Also enjoy the guild's boutique and a chance to win a door prize. Cortez Quilt Company will have a booth at the show. Please stop by to visit, shop, and take a look at our "show special" BERNINA sewing machines. The show is held at the Dolores Community Center (right behind the Dolores Food Market) on Friday from 9-6 and on Saturday from 9-4. Tickets are $3 at the door.

Yarn Shop Classes

Beginning Knitting
August 25 & September 1 (Two Thursdays)
5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
$39, includes supplies

In these two-sessions classes students learn to cast on, knit, purl, increase, decrease, and cast off. At the end of the second session you will begin working on a scarf that you will finish at home. Anne Worthington will teach.

Intermediate Knitting: Learn on Your Lunch Hour
13 Mondays Beginning September 12, 2016
12 noon – 1 p.m. 
FREE with purchase of Building Blocks book AND yarn
$75 if you bring your own yarn (book required)

If you’re ready to take your knitting to the next level or need a refresher course after being away from your needles for a while, this fun 13-week class is just the ticket. Each week you’ll make a block (for a total of 12), each featuring a different stitch. In the final session you’ll sew them all together and have a beautiful afghan.

BERNINA Software Club
Tuesday, August 23, 2016
5:30 – 8:00 p.m.
We’re having a special two-part Software Club on August 23. First, we’ll watch the lesson on how to embellish this cute mini-iron tote with quilting in the hoop. Learn different methods for creating quilting designs. The tote opens up and turns into a small ironing pad. Perfect for taking to class or retreats.

Then, part two will be an introduction to the newly-released Designer Plus Version 8 software. Learn about all the new features and if you purchase your update (or purchase software for the first time) on the evening of Software Club take a 10% discount.
