Beginning Quilting
Two Saturdays: May 7 & 14, 2016
9:00 a.m. – 5 p.m. both days
$119 (includes fabric, supplies, and the use of a BERNINA sewing machine)

Master the basics of piecing and quilting in this two-session class. You’ll choose four fabrics and make a beautiful quilted 35″ x 35″ wall hanging/table topper. Learn how to measure, cut, piece, press, machine quilt, and attach binding. This class will give you the skill and confidence you need to become an accomplished quilter. Class taught by Karen Childress.

Knitting Classes

Knit Your First Sock

The mystery around knitting socks will dissolve during this four-hour class in which you’ll make one small practice sock from top to toe. Then you’ll be on your way to sock-making heaven!

Supplies: Fingering weight yarn and size #1 double-point needles. Bring what you have from home or purchase on the day of class here.

Students for this class should know how to knit, purl, increase, and decrease (i.e., this is not a class for first-time knitters).

How To Read Knitting Patterns and Charts

The abbreviations, the diagrams, and details . . . does reading a knitting pattern or chart intimidate you? If so, conquer your fears and take your knitting to the next level in this informative class. You may wish to take notes during this class.

Introduction to Lace Knitting

In Introduction Lace Knitting you’ll learn the simple elements used to create light and delicate scarves and shawls that intrigue every knitter. This class is designed for those who have mastered knitting fundamentals (casting on, knit and purl stitches, and binding off). You will need fingering or DK weight yarn (in a light color) and needles in size 4 or 5 to create a beautiful lace bookmark. Guest teacher Dana Jensen will be your instructor.

Embroidery Class

These in-the-hoop zipper pouches are PERFECT for organizing small items. The flying geese blocks stitch out with perfect little points and the entire pouch has a nice tailored look. Each zipper pouch is lined and shows no raw seams. What a great way to learn or become more proficient at piecing in the hoop.

Hoop Size for the MEDIUM Pouch: 6x10 hoop (Embroidery Field Needed: 5.77 x 9.44)

Since embroidery fields vary for different brands and sizes of hoops, please be sure that the embroidery field listed above will be the right size for your particular hoop.
