Welcome Vicki Noland

We're delighted to welcome Vicki Noland to our staff and introduce her to you. Vicki started work today and will be at the shop five days a week. She is a former teacher (and current private tutor), has been a successful Scentsy distributor, and most recently worked at Mesa Verde National Park. Vicki enjoys sewing, reading, camping, and learning new things.

She and her husband Rick have lived in Mancos for 36 years. They have three grown children who all reside in Colorado. Welcome Vicki!

New Arrivals

This elegant collection arrived on Friday. Yummmm . . .

Wouldn't this fun flannel make a great quilt for a teenage girl? It's not too late to make something special for Christmas.

As of today we have 401 Facebook followers, and we have a goal to increase that number to 500 by the end of the year. If you're not already seeing our Facebook posts, click here now and like us. You'll then have access to "FB Only" sales and events throughout 2016. Don't miss out on the special deals!

New Kit Available

This 57" x 81" quilt is called Sunrise Sunset. The pattern cover shows it made up in pastels but we chose Kansas Troubles for the sample and kit. The images never seem to do the samples justice so stop by the shop to see this pretty quilt in person. The fabrics are burgundy, navy, and dark green on a cream background. The kit is $112. Free shipping through this Saturday (11/7) if you mention that you saw it in the Quiltzette. Call 970-565-7541 to order.

Upcoming Classes

Janet’s Tote (aka “The Ila Bag”)
Friday & Saturday, November 6 & 7
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
$65, pattern required

We’ve again had requests for Ila Starks to teach a class on the popular Janet’s Tote. This is your opportunity to learn from a highly skilled instructor and take home a finished project. Day one of this class involves mainly cutting and fusing – the foundation for success. On day two you’ll assemble this bag which is large and perfect as a travel carry-on, overnight bag, or just a purse if you tend to pack lots of stuff.

The Scrappers
Friday, November 13, 2015
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Join The Scrappers and spend the second Friday of every other month working on a scrap quilt of your choice. You’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish during a full day of sewing without the distractions of home! Each time you attend you’ll receive a bonus scrap bag to add to your collection or trade with others while you sew. Attendance at The Scrappers is FREE but space is limited so do call ahead to reserve your seat in the classroom.

25% off #10, #10C, and #10D Presser Feet

This is one of our favorite feet. It's great for stitch in the ditch quilting and makes the most beautiful top stitching you've ever seen. Try it with the triple straight stitch and variegated thread . . . just lovely. Sale prices through the month of November are $24.00, $37.50, and $49.50 for the #10, #10C, and #10D respectively.

Bernina Embroidery Club
Tuesday, November 10
5:15 – 8:00 p.m.
Free with design purchase ($10.99)

Bring your sewing machine with embroidery unit and we'll spend an evening stitching up some cute embroidered in-the-hoop Gift Card "Pocket" tags. The pocket is perfect for holding a gift card, movie tickets, money or a handwritten note. Since the design is on a CD, be sure to bring a USB drive and we will transfer your pattern to your USB drive for you. As always, bring embroidered show and tell for an extra chance to win a door prize. Bring a snack or plan to order food from one of our neighboring restaurants. Register in advance by calling the shop at 565-7541 or by sending an email to Cindy.

Row by Row

The 2015 blackout period is over and we can now sell our row pattern from this year. But we're not going to. Instead, you can have it for free! Click here to download. It's the first item under "Free Patterns." Note: We do NOT have kits for this row. The 2016 theme for Row by Row is "Home Sweet Home." Sounds like fun. Watch the newsletter for details before the event starts next summer.

Tip of the Week: Decorative Stitch Reference Log

How many decorative stitches will your sewing machine create? How many do you use regularly? Make full use of this wonderful feature on your machine by creating a stitch reference log. Here's one Cindy made this morning using ten stitches in one of the many stitch folders on a BERNINA 770 Quilters Edition. Only 273 more decorative stitches to go and we'll have a complete log!

Once you've made your stitches (and you don't necessarily have to do them in multiple colors), label each one with the stitch number. Size your fabric pieces to fit into an 8 1/2" x 11" plastic sleeves and keep everything neat and tidy in a three-ring binder.

Challenge . . . be the first person to bring in your completed decorative stitch reference guide (in a binder) and you'll receive a $20 gift certificate to the shop. Offer expires November 30.
