Sew Days #1: Last Minute Runner

This first class in the Sew Days Series features a fun runner that can be used to decorate a dining room table, or on your dresser. Some of the skills that will be learned in this class are: Learning how to use a rotary cutter, sewing with a quarter inch seam, squaring up your project, and top stitching. Judy will lead this fun garment class. This is a great project to try out our new rayon batiks! Stylish, flattering, and quick to sew, the Schoolhouse Tunic is a versatile addition to your wardrobe. Make the tunic-length to wear as a dress or over jeans – or make a shirt length version. The Schoolhouse Tunic features front and back pleats, 3/4-length sleeves with optional elastic gathering at the cuff, and an open bodice perfect for layering over your favorite camisole or tank. Beginning Quilting
Two Saturdays, October 20 & 27, 2018

Have you always wanted to learn to quilt? This class is for you! You will learn the entire process: how to use a rotary cutter, piecing, adding borders, quilting, and binding. This class will give you the foundation needed to move on to more advanced projects. Judith is the leader for this class.

Class Policies

Classes are limited to 6-8 students (minimum of three) depending on the complexity of the project.

Class fees must be paid and any required pattern/book/notions must be purchased in advance to hold your space.

Store credit will be given for paid classes if you cancel and give 48 hours notice (otherwise, no credit). Refund or store credit (your choice) given for classes if we cancel due to lack of sign ups.

Bring your sewing machine and basic sewing supplies (scissors, seam ripper, straight pins, etc.) to class. If you prefer, you may use one of our BERNINA classroom machines. We request that you use either Mettler or Aurafil thread on classroom machines.

Bring lunch (we have a fridge and microwave) or order out from one of the many fine restaurants on Main Street. Coffee, tea, water, and soft drinks are complimentary.

It is important to be on time for class. We recommend that you arrive 10 minutes before the class start time. If you arrive earlier please be aware that your instructor will not be available until the class begins.

Please do not park on Main Street in front of the shop when you are here for a class.

Please silence your cell phone while in class. If you need to make a phone call during class, we ask that you step outside or to the back of the store where it’s quiet so that other students are not distracted.

Youth classes are for students 8-16 years of age. Youth members may take the adult classes with instructor approval.

Except for nursing infants up to 12 months of age, children may not attend classes with parents.
