This program offers a great opportunity to learn how to quilt with rulers. Shanna Stordahl of Hesperus Colorado will be leading this fun and educational project. Shanna has this broken down into a four part block of the month enabling you to have a completed project in a relatively short period of time, while also learning a new technique.  Piecing of the blocks will be done at home between classes, with class time devoted to learning how to do the ruler work. Beginning Quilting

Denim Quilt

This project is perfect to use up all the denim that is waiting to be used in a quilt. Combine the denim with appliqued batiks, and you have a bright and cheerful quilt. This would make an excellent picnic quilt, or to make for cold climates. Judith will be the instructor for this class.

Daphne Bag

This bag will be beautiful no matter what your fabric choice. Add in the cork accents, and you have a very trendy, up-to-date bag that can go anywhere with you. Tricia is the teacher for this class.

Class Policies

Classes are limited to 6-8 students (minimum of three) depending on the complexity of the project.

Class fees must be paid and any required pattern/book/notions must be purchased in advance to hold your space.

Store credit will be given for paid classes if you cancel and give 48 hours notice (otherwise, no credit). Refund or store credit (your choice) given for classes if we cancel due to lack of sign ups.

Bring your sewing machine and basic sewing supplies (scissors, seam ripper, straight pins, etc.) to class. If you prefer, you may use one of our BERNINA classroom machines. We request that you use either Mettler or Aurafil thread on classroom machines.

Bring lunch (we have a fridge and microwave) or order out from one of the many fine restaurants on Main Street. Coffee, tea, water, and soft drinks are complimentary.

It is important to be on time for class. We recommend that you arrive 10 minutes before the class start time. If you arrive earlier please be aware that your instructor will not be available until the class begins.

Please do not park on Main Street in front of the shop when you are here for a class.

Please silence your cell phone while in class. If you need to make a phone call during class, we ask that you step outside or to the back of the store where it’s quiet so that other students are not distracted.

Youth classes are for students 8-16 years of age. Youth members may take the adult classes with instructor approval.

Except for nursing infants up to 12 months of age, children may not attend classes with parents.
