Tired of making scarves and hats? Want to sink your teeth into something a bit more challenging? Are you ready to knit a sweater, vest or skirt? With purchase of yarn we invite you to join our Garment KAL anytime. Come to the store by and we’ll help you select a pattern and order the yarn of your choice. During the KAL we’ll help you through any rough spots you might encounter and you’ll enjoy moral support and encouragement from your fellow knitters.


Scarf/Shawl Knit-A-Long

Crochet 101

Learn to crochet and you’ll be on your way to making beautiful baby blankets, booties, hats, scarves and more. In this class you’ll learn how to chain stitch, single, and half-double crochet. Once you know these basics, you can take your work home and make a potholder or small scarf with the yarn that is provided for the class. Sue Maxwell will teach.


Knitting 101

In this class you will learn to cast on, knit and purl, bind off, and start working on a basic ribbed scarf.  In this class you will learn English style (throwing) knitting. A pair of knitting needles and ball of yarn are included in the class fee. Limited to four students; youth and adults welcome.Sue Maxwell will teach this class.

Crochet 102

Take your crochet skills to the next level by learning a variety of new stitches in this two-hour class. You should know how to chain, single, and half-double crochet to attend. Bring yarn and the appropriate size crochet hook. Sue Maxwell will teach.


Crochet Sun Hat

Knitting 102

This class builds on what students learned in Knitting 101. Now you take your craft to the next level by learning how to increase and decrease. Bring needles and any leftover yarn from Knitting 101. If you are already proficient in casting on, binding off, and doing knit and purl stitches, you may be admitted directly to Knitting 102. Limited to four students; youth and adults welcome. Sue Maxwell will teach this class.


Hairpin Lace Infinity Scarf

Learn to make this lovely scarf using a Hairpin Lace Loom and just a single crochet stitch. Then we’ll use a simple braiding method to pull it all together. Students should know how to chain and do single crochet (easy!). Supplies needed: Hairpin Lace Loom (available at the shop) and a size H crochet hook. Suggested yarn: approximately 450 yards worsted weight. Sue Maxwell will teach this class.

Introduction to Tunisian Crochet

Tunisian Crochet is a needlework technique which combines elements of both crocheting and knitting. In this class, you will learn the basic stitches of Tunisian crochet while making a sampler washcloth. Students should have prior knowledge of basic crochet stitches. Magic Loop Sock Knitting
Two Saturdays
September 16, 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
September 23, 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Tired of knitting socks one at a time?  Learn how to knit a pair of toe to cuff socks at the same time using one long circular needle.  Prerequisite: Ability to knit socks, including turning the heel. Sue Maxwell will teach this class.


Intermediate Knitting
13 Weeks Starting Late Summer (exact dates coming soon)
FREE with purchase of Building Blocks book AND yarn
$75 if you bring your own yarn (book required)

If you’re ready to take your knitting to the next level or need a refresher course after being away from your needles for a while, this fun 13-week class is just the ticket. Each week you’ll make a block (for a total of 12), each featuring a different stitch. In the final session you’ll sew them all together and have a beautiful afghan.

Class Policies

Class fees must be paid and any required pattern/book/notions must be purchased in advance to hold your space.

Store credit will be given for paid classes if you cancel and give 48 hours notice (otherwise, no credit). Refund or store credit (your choice) given for classes if we cancel due to lack of sign ups.

Bring lunch (we have a fridge and microwave) or order out from one of the many fine restaurants on Main Street. Coffee, tea, water, and soft drinks are complimentary.

It is important to be on time for class. We recommend that you arrive 5-10 minutes before the class start time.

Youth classes are for students 8-16 years of age. All other classes are for those 17 and older. Except for nursing infants up to 12 months of age, children may not attend classes with parents.

Please do not park on Main Street in front of the shop when you are here for a class.

Please silence your cell phone while in class. If you need to make a phone call during class, we ask that you step outside where it’s quiet so that other students are not distracted.
