Thanks to everyone in the San Juan Quilters' Guild for having us at your show last weekend, and for all the hard work that you put in to provide such a wonderful event. We had a great time at the show, and really enjoyed getting to know all of you better. It goes without saying we loved all the quilts!

Thanks also to everyone from the Cortez area that drove down and dropped by our booth to say hi!

This photo makes me smile... Todd and all the gals. Thanks Rita Arnold for taking and sharing your photo.

QUILTED CORNERS UPDATE

In case you missed this last week... we are excited to announce that we are going to be opening another store in Farmington, New Mexico! We will be located at 3030 E Main St Suite A2 in the San Juan Plaza near the Stage and Staples stores. We hope to open towards the beginning half of November.

This week we have been able to take possession of the store. New HVAC units are being installed, along with some maintenance and construction.

Here is a first glimpse of what the outside will look like once the signs are added.

ART & LANDSCAPE GROUP
BLOCKS WITHOUT BORDERS

Art & Landscape Group – Blocks Without Borders
Thursday, October 17, 2019
1:00 pm
Blocks Without Borders (an Art & Landscape Society) meets on the Third Thursday of each month at 1 p.m.  Prepare to exchange ideas, along with giving and receiving inspiration.  Don’t forget to bring your Show-N-Tell! We will have a door prize! No RSVP necessary.

• Our September meeting was a huge success with a strong turnout  for Virginia Robertson’s fabulous class on face painting on fabric. We are so lucky to have such a talented teacher and artist in our quilting community. THANK YOU Virginia!

• We had a spirited reveal of our “A picture is worth a thousand words – or is it?” challenge” with extremely varied work from thoughtful and sophisticated landscapes, through the artful and just plain pretty, to more artsy folk submissions. Thanks everyone, we certainly are growing our skills thanks to everyone’s generous sharing.

• Our next challenge will be deferred until after the Montezuma Historical Musuem project blocks are complete in January.

Next meeting is October 17th at 1:00 p.m.

• Museum blocks will be shared – come see how our quilt is coming along. We are using vintage photos of Montezuma County landmarks which will be assembled for a fundraiser auction for the museum next Spring.

• Susan Madden will be giving a demo on easy curved piecing – you won’t want to miss watching this wonderful fabric artist at work. Please bring 2 contrasting fat quarters and basic sewing kit for practicing the curved piercing technique.

• Show and Tell
