Message From Karen

Happy 2018, everyone! This year brings a big and exciting change to Cortez Quilt Company. As of March 1, Aimee King will be the new owner of the shop. I am extremely pleased to be passing the baton to Aimee. She is enthusiastic about taking over the business and has more great ideas than she'll ever have time to implement. I'll let her share a preview in the next issue of the Quiltzette, which she will be writing from here on out.

I'll be in and out for the next two months, but plan to stay out of Aimee's way as much as possible as she takes the helm. Soon I'll be moving to Tucson, Arizona where I will get settled into a new home, take a few months off, and then embark on a new professional path.

I have loved owning and managing Cortez Quilt Company for the past six-plus years. With the help of an amazing staff and the support of our loyal customers, the business has grown and prospered beyond my wildest dreams. And now it is time for a change. I will miss you!

                                                                                                          ~ Karen

Yarn Department Update

We have some potentially good news this week related to the yarn department. There are a few fiber lovers talking about trying to keep the shop in town and running it as a co-op. If you are interested in investing in keeping yarn local and have some fun at the same time, email Anne Worthington soon.

BERNINA Club: Introduction to Ruler Work
Tuesday, January 9, 2018

Curious about quilting using acrylic rulers? Learn to create quilted ruler work designs on your projects using a home sewing machine. Using the BERNINA Adjustable Ruler Foot #72 with rulers you can add intricate block designs and borders to your quilt projects. We will watch a video and then experiment using the rulers. Use one of our classroom machines, or bring you own. Rulers and presser feet provided for practice. Remember to bring your show and tell for extra chances to win the door prize!
