Thanksgiving Table Runner

In this class students will advance their applique and decorative stitching skills while making this pretty runner for the Thanksgiving table. Aimee King will be your instructor.

Beyond Stippling

Are you ready to learn free motion quilting, or take your skills to the next level? If so, Beyond Stippling is the class for you. Using Leah Day’s Dancing Butterfly pattern and videos, you’ll practice eight different free motion designs. Once you’re comfortable with each one, you’ll stitch them out on four placemats. New Yarn

Last week we received a shipment from Done Roving, a small farm in Maine. Their base yarn is spun with fiber from animals raised in Maine. They aim to be as organic as possible.

We received a few special cakes of Frolicking Feet Gradient, a DK-Sport 100% domestic merino superwash merino that starts with one color, gradually transitions to other colors and ends with a final one. A little on the pricey side (but worth it!) this is a true gradient yarn that's perfect for shawls or scarves where you want gradual color changes to highlight the stitch design. Each 4 oz. cake is 350 yards.

We also received Frolicking Feet superwash sock yarn, a 100% domestic superwash merino wool yarn that is hand-dyed and available in both a fingering and DK weight yarn. The fingering weight is 480 yds per 4 oz skein and the DK is 350 yds. In addition to socks you can also make lovely accessories. The colorways are vibrant. We also received a worsted weight yarn in the same 100% superwash merino that is 220 yd per 4 oz skein.

Double Point Needle Socks Starter Class

This class is intended for those having basic knitting skills who are ready to knit their first pair of socks on double pointed needles, as well as for those wanting a refresher on sock knitting. There will be follow-up KALs (Knit-A-Longs) in subsequent weeks. Materials needed: worsted or DK weight yarn and appropriate needle size for gauge.

Knitting 101

In this class you will learn to cast on, knit and purl, bind off, and start working on a basic ribbed scarf. A pair of knitting needles and ball of yarn are included in the class fee. Limited to four students; youth and adults welcome. Sue Maxwell will teach this class.
