Welcome Autumn!

Summer is behind us and autumn has arrived. A few visitors from afar are still trickling in, but tourist season is officially over. Last spring, Aimee came up with the fun idea of tracking where all of our visitors over the summer were from. (We all know a quilter won't pass by a quilt shop without stopping when on vacation!) We hung a world map near the front door, but soon realized the U.S. was  filling up with pins way too fast. We added a larger map just for our home country and large swaths of it filled up quickly, too.

We had visitors in our shop between April 1 and September 30 from EVERY state in the U.S. We also had travelers from almost every country in western Europe as well as Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Brazil, South Africa, Kenya, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, China, Taiwan, Japan, North Korea, the Aleutian Islands, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Finland, Greece, Bulgaria, Austria, Micronesia, and Czechoslovakia. It is so much fun to talk to people from all over the country and all over the world. Thanks to everyone who visited us over the summer. We appreciate you!

I ventured out on vacation myself and was gone for most of the past two weeks visiting family in Mississippi and friends in Arizona. I did my own personal shop hop while I was in Arizona, stopping in at many quilt stores in and around Phoenix and Tucson. So many nice ones! I brought back some great new patterns that we'll be getting samples made up from soon. When I left for my trip it was still hot and summery here in the Four Corners area. I returned to chilly mornings and leaves beginning to change color.

I hope you are all looking forward to an autumn and winter that includes lots of time for sewing, quilting, knitting, and crocheting. Come in soon to pick out a new project and/or sign up for some of the many classes we have on the schedule. See you soon!
