Upcoming Classes

Little Quilt September Sewing Day
Thursday, August 24, 2017
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Free with purchase of pattern

We’re working our way through the year creating these adorable raw-edge applique wall hangings. Make them with or without the month at the bottom. These fit perfectly in the small wire stands. With the month added to the bottom, the finished size is 12 x 16.  Join anytime . . . you can backtrack and make the earlier months or make them later as each month rolls around.

Key West Handbag
Saturday, August 26, 2017
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
$29, pattern required

This bag is a great size for everyday use. It measures 11 1/2″ x 11 1/2″ and it’s 4″ deep. With lots of pockets on the inside and a large one on both the front and back you’ll stay organized and have everything you need within reach. This is a good first bag class . . . just challenging enough and no zippers. Fat quarter friendly, too. Judy Bryan will teach this class.

The Tip

Do you have trouble getting your seams to match up perfectly when piecing? Try this.

Pin every intersection when piecing, and remove pins as you sew up to them after your machine needle has pierced the multiple layers of fabric that are at the seam intersection. Stop sewing with the needle in the down position, gently remove the pin (don't sew over them), and then proceed with your seam. It works every time!
