Landscape Challenge Winner

Congratulations to Sandy Cressler who won our Landscape Challenge with this beautiful wall hanging. Sandy included images (transferred onto fabric) of scenes around her home, including wildlife and her very own cat. 3-D butterflies added to the uniqueness of her quilt. Sandy takes home a $50 gift certificate for her efforts.

We had nine entries for the challenge and they were all amazing. Great work, everyone. Keep up the creativity.

And thanks to everyone who came by to vote on the entries. You had a tough job!

Very Gently Used 580E Available

This machine was owned by one of our employees for only a few months before she traded up to a 790. It has less than one hour of actual stitching time on it. The embroidery unit and the BSR (stitch regulator) were never used at all. This machine has been serviced by our technicians and is ready for a new home. It comes with an extra stitch plate and a BERNINA trolly bag, in addition to the standard long list of accessories. Here's the best part: it's $1,000 off the original price (which is already discounted from the suggested retail price). If you've been looking for a combo sewing/quilting/embroidery machine, don't miss out on this offer. We get in very, very few used machines, and we've never had one that was used this little.

BERNINA Trolly Cases 50% Off

Through the end of the year our wonderful BERNINA Trolly Cases are half price. They come in two sizes (each with an optional embroidery module bag) and they are well-padded, have lots of storage pockets, and roll like a dream. Put any brand of machine into one of these bags. Should this be on your holiday wish list?

Software Club
Tuesday, December 13, 2016
5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Have fun creating unique shapes in Artwork Canvas while exploring all the wonderful things you can do with the Shapes & Drawing tools. Create pattern stitches to add to the designs you create. The finished designs in this lesson are two rulers and a measuring tape and could be used to embellish a tote, notion organizer, or a hanger to hold your rulers.

Software Club begins at 5:30. Bring show and tell of any embroidery projects you have completed or are working on for chances to win a door prize. Bring your laptop loaded with BERNINA Software 7 or 8 and stay to create one or more of the designs. Also bring a USB stick to take a digital copy of the lesson home with you. To sign up for Software Club call 970-565-7541 or email Cindy.

Third Thursday Demo: December 15, 12:30 p.m.

Join us on Thursday, December 15 at 12:30 p.m. for our regular Third Thursday Demo. This month Karen will demonstrate two new rulers from Creative Grids. The Stripology Squared ruler is so versatile. Using it you can cut strips at 1/2″ intervals (like the original Stripology ruler) and use the additional markings to square up half-square triangles, trim blocks up to 12 1/2″, and fussy cut with ease. Also featured will be the new 6″ Log Cabin Trim Tool. Make perfect log cabin blocks every time with this little gem of a ruler. Third Thursday Demo is always free. Bring and friend!

Hat, Glove, Mitten, Scarf Drive for The Bridge

Guests of the Bridge Emergency Shelter are homeless. They have a warm place to sleep at night, but they're outside during the day - and it's cold out there. We're sponsoring a Hat-Glove-Mitten-Scarf drive to offer up a bit of warmth for these men and women to help them get through the winter a bit more comfortably.

Please drop off new or gently used items at Cortez Quilt Company anytime between now and Christmas. These accessories should be acrylic or made of fiber that can survive a hot wash and machine dry.

Perhaps you have some acrylic yarn lying about that you'd like to use up for a donation project. If not, we have a few acrylic options that are very reasonably priced.

Thanks for considering giving back to our community and helping those who don't have as much as most of us do. Find out more about The Bridge here.
