Congratulations to Our Winners

Thanks to everyone who came out last Friday for Customer Appreciation Day. Gyanne Cellar won the Chickadee Challenge. She took a simple Christmas panel and transformed it into the wall hanging you see here. "I enjoyed every minute of this project. It took on a life of its own," said Gyanne. This beautiful work earned her a $50 gift certificate as she garnered the most votes from the six gorgeous entries. Thanks to all who participated in the challenge and congratulations on a job well done, Gyanne.

Congratulations also to Sue Maxwell who won a $50 gift certificate in the random drawing from everyone who completed a Holiday Wish List. Sue's list has already been mailed to her "Santa" so she'll get the perfect gift this year.

Stop by the shop to complete your own Wish List and we'll mail it to the person of your choice.

Solids Are Here

We've decided to stock a collection of Kona Cotton solids to accompany our new lines of brighter, bolder fabrics. Check out the initial arrival. If these prove to be popular we'll increase the selection.

We Dread Inventory

It's almost that time of year . . . annual inventory. We really don't look forward to this day very much, and the less we have to count, the better. With that in mind we're clearing out two lines of fabric.

Minkee in eight colors that's regularly priced $17.99 is only $12/yard until it's gone. If you make baby quilts you already know how special it is to have this soft, cuddly fabric on the back. At 60" wide you won't have to piece for most baby quilts.

Also, we're clearing out our Crossroads Denim in ten colors. This lightweight denim is 54" wide. Regular price is $16.50/yard but during the clearance it's marked at only $11/yard. This fabric is great for tote bags and more. Stock up now!

Watch for another We Dread Inventory offer in next week's newsletter.

Going Out of Town?

If you're traveling over the holidays what better time to bring your sewing machine in for a thorough "clean, oil, and adjust" (aka, regular maintenance). Drop it off before you leave and pick it up when you return. Annual service on your machine will keep it running smoothly year-round. We service all brands of machines. Click here for details on our service department.

Bring your laptop loaded with Bernina Software 7. Register in advance by calling the shop at 565-7541 or by sending an email to Cindy. If you don't yet have software for your machine and you're curious about what it can do, please come to this event. You'll be wowed!

Western Quilt

We had an image of this quilt in the newsletter last week, but the sample is now hanging in the shop and we felt it was worth showcasing again. Kits are available. Make one of these for your favorite cowboy.

Free Crib Mattress

We did a re-arrange of the store last week and, sadly, the baby crib had to go. It was old and probably not safe for today's modern baby. The crib is being recycled. The mattress that was in the crib is still in the plastic it came in, and is available for free to the first person who comes to the shop to take it away. No phone calls.

Tip of the Week: Binding Control

When getting ready to bind a quilt tightly wrap your binding into a jellyroll configuration and then pop it on your vertical spool holder. No more binding all over the floor or tangled up in the legs of your chair.

"There is a very real relationship, both quantitatively and qualitatively, between what you contribute and what you get out of this world." ~ Oscar Hammerstein II
